The High School Writing course is designed for students in grades 9 - 12 who are at least 14 years of age.
Students will learn two forms of academic writing—the literary analysis paper and the classical rhetoric paper.
Students will need the following:
A Gmail account (classroom management and assignments take place via Google Docs)
Access to a computer
Lost Tools of Writing Level I Student Workbook (workbooks may be provided at a discount if the course fills completely)
Selected Greek myths
Selected Grimm’s Fairy Tales
When and Where
Online: We will meet from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. EST on Mondays. Information on specifics will be sent upon registration.
In-person: We will meet from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. EST on Tuesdays near downtown Cary, North Carolina. Address TBA upon registration.
The calendar year will run 33 weeks between Labor Day and Memorial Day, with occasional breaks.
$495 for the course. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at sign up (one deposit covers both courses); balance is due before the first day of class. Students taking both courses will receive a 50 percent discount on the Great Books Course.
