A Virgin Birth

And the skeptics say it isn’t possible.

In an evolutionary twist, Flora the Komodo dragon has managed to become pregnant all on her own without any male help. She is carrying seven baby Komodo dragons.

“We were blown away when we realized what she’d done,” said Kevin Buley, a reptile expert at Flora’s home at the Chester Zoo in this town in northern England. “But we certainly won’t be naming any of the hatchlings Jesus.”

hey- we do Santa. when my girls ask if he’s real i am very open. i whisper, “it’s really mommy and daddy but we pretend Santa does it…and we never tell little kids he’s not real.” then they think that they’re in on a big “adult” conspiracy!! so- every year, they still want to “talk to Santa” at the mall…even abby. they are getting their pics made with him on friday. My dad use to say, “when you stop believing in Santa…you stop getting gifts from him”…so we all ALWAYS believed! :)

    Evolutionary twist my butt…

Sounds like Kevin Buley bought the lie his daughter dragon threw at him:

Flora: “No, daddy, seriously. I’m a virgin. Me and the quarterback Komodo kissed and messed around on the couch for a while, but NOTHING HAPPENED! Really, dad. You believe me, don’t you?”

Kevin: “Sure, sweetheart. You’ve never lied to me before. ALERT THE MEDIA because my bowheaded Komodo would NEVER do anything like that or lie to me. It has to be an EVOLUTIONARY TWIST!”

Listen, as a youth pastor for nearly two decades, I’ve heard ‘em all. I can’t imagine that Komodos are on the up and up with their parents, either.
