Once again, The Truth Isn’t Sexy
The San Francisco Chronicle recently did a feature on sex trafficking, following the story of a woman named You Mi through her life as a forced-sex worker.
You can find the entire package right here, including You Mi’s three-part story, podcast interviews, photo slide shows, an audio slide show, an article about the dark(er) side of the sex trade in San Francisco, and information about how the series was reported. You can also read the article on the mayor’s plan to curb the illicit sex trade here.
If you live in San Francisco, you can help by getting involved with The SAGE Project - Standing Against Global Exploitation. SAGE hopes to help bring an end to the global problem of women and children being sexually exploited.

I kept up with that series, too… I was glad to see that her outcome was better than most (and probably very, very rare.) Believe it or not, I was going to say “At least she had a happy ending” and caught my pun, just in time.

Great resources…my sister is really interested in getting more involved with this. I’m going to send her a link to your blog. Right now, I’m just trying to tell teen girls they don’t have to give it all away to the first guy who thinks they’re sexy/ pretty / or whatever.
