Poop in the potty, poop goes in the potty

So we’ve been potty training Judah for a while now, and she has got the pee-pee thing DOWN. She only wears a diaper during her nap, which she is dropping these days anyway, and overnight. To our pleasant surprise, two nights in a row have resulted in dry diapers. Not every night, but we make a big deal about it. She has still steadfastly refused to go poo-poo in the potty, and has only used her diaper.

UNTIL TODAY.

This morning, I told Judah I was going to lie down for a while, and was all set to offer her a movie choice, when she told me that she would play with her Polly Pockets. I took Killian and got in an hour-long snooze (one beautiful thing about being a parent is that you can sleep and still hear everything that’s going on - it’s a blessing and a curse), only to be fully awakened by cries of “I WENT POO POO IN THE POTTY!!!” coming from the bathroom. Sure enough, she did.

Last week, Joshua and I bought her a “poo-poo toy” - a Polly set including a Polly and a Polly horse, and accessories for both. It’s been sitting on top of the medicine cabinet, waiting for her to go poo-poo. She got to choose which piece she wanted. She chose the Polly doll. She also got to call Daddy and Nana and tell them about her newfound ability.

She poo-pooed again after lunch. She chose the Polly horse. And called Daddy. And called Nana.

She poo-pooed again after “rest time” (which has replaced nap time). And chose the pink Polly boots. And called Daddy. And called Nana.

It’s a monumental day over here, people.

She pooped THREE TIMES in one day?? Can you have her diet published?

  4. Kristen Rudd Says:

    Well, today’s diet was:

    Breakfast:
    Cheerios and milk
    Chocolate milk

    Snack:
    Applesauce
    Milk

    Lunch:
    1/2 PBJ sandwich
    Strawberry yogurt
    Watermelon
    Apple juice

    Coffee time:
    Two cookies
    Milk

    Dinner:
    Chicken and dumplings
    Applesauce
    Broccoli
    Apple juice

I think it was mostly the novelty that prompted the three poopings, And getting a toy and getting to call Nana afterward that did it. Who knows what tomorrow will be like. Though she did poop in her diaper when we put her to bed.

    MUCH REJOICING!
    :)
I know how exciting that is… I think things finally kicked in for Aiden when he had a number of poops in one day. I think his tummy was a little sick but the happy result was that he finally put poop and potty together.
Tell Judah she is doing a great job.

I was wondering about her diet as well- my gosh. For Leila we told her she’d get a Dora doll when she used the potty- but I think she partly just decided it was time.

    Awesome….

We miss you guys. Can’t wait to see you again.

Definitely what a day of rejoicing. Gosh, that day seems so far away for us, but we’ll get there sooner or later. Hannah is coming up on 11months in only like 4 more days. Our issues these days are getting her to eat some real food without slinging it into the living room, and without getting it all in her hair, but she’s having a great time.
