But only if you live in the area. I don’t want more of my own books, I just want to borrow yours.
So I need new reading material. Preferably fiction, or a really good non-fiction. I want to try out genres, like chick-lit, period writing, the classics, books you buy at airports, etc. And if you remember any good juvenile ficton, I might foray into our collective pasts as well. It IS summertime. I’m also taking suggestions from you out-of-towners. I must get a library card sometime soon. For real, people. I’ve got a few of you I’m thinking of for suggestions specifically, and you probably know who you are…

like me. i have a great deal of books. what do you want? what do you like? what are some of your favorites?
Go with The Brothers Karamazov by Doestoyevsky. You can get it at a well-lighted, well-stocked bookstore in their classics section for about 8 bucks…but I’m sure any library’s got it. Splurge for the Cliff’s Notes, though. You won’t regret it.
I also went with “Honeymoon With My Brother” by Franz Wisner. Very good summer read.
anything by christopher moore is guaranteed to be funny & really smart. i suggest starting with “lamb: the gospel according to biff”. it’s crack your shite up funny and SO good. he has a real respect for ALL the religions he deals with. my copy has been to several states in many hands, so i’d be happy to mail it to you so it could visit california. it does have to come back, though.
i’m so happy you’re coming to visit!!
i’ll bring some over soon. i just now found out that they are closing a clean well lighted place for books. i nearly cried when i read the sign.
