I don’t count yesterday since we got here at 7 p.m. (9 p.m. by our body clocks), ate, and crashed.
Today started with Judah waking us at 5:45 a.m. That’s just wrong. We let her climb in bed with us and tried to coax her back to sleep to no avail. She asked, “Judah’s new home?” We told her that yes, this was Judah’s new home. “Oh! Judah’s new home!” Too cute, but not cute enough to make us get up at 5:45. Joshua got her set up back in her bed with a movie on the iPod, giving us another precious hour and a half of precious sleep.
Mark made us crepes for breakfast and after getting ready, we got in the car and did the whirlwind tour of what we could before we had to get Taylor to the airport. We went up Mission Street, through the Castro, took a left up Haight and swung through Golden Gate Park. We then took the Great Highway, stopped off for a bit at Ocean Beach and drove up to the Cliff House to look around for a while. We then drove through Seacliff and the multi-multi million dollar homes that overlook the Golden Gate, and stopped off at Baker Beach for some scenery (Dawn, I got you a rock).
Then we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and back. By then we were hungry, so we went to Fisherman’s Wharf and had a really great lunch. By the time we were done, it was raining, and we had to get T to the airport, so we didn’t make it to the other places we wanted to go.
We came back here and had potluck lunch upstairs and hung out for a while. Taylor’s flight was delayed, enough to make him miss his connection in Denver, so he had a choice to stay the night here or in Denver, so he chose here. Mom went back to the airport to pick him up. We got a chance to talk with Dan and Adam, our housemates for the next couple of months, about logistical stuff, and then we went to our friends Eric and Linda’s house for dinner.
It’s about time to crash again. Tomorrow’s agenda is to find a storage unit, and go shopping for essentials.
We live here.
you’re home! Glad you made it OK. Keep us posted.
wow this brings back memories from when we moved here last year. happy for ya!
I love IKEA! Now you know why. I’ve been to the one in Frisco, and I thought about you because of the way they organize small spaces and you living in the garage apartment and simplifying your life. So, I’m glad the use of space was inspiring.
