What IS it with Highland Parkers? Yet another example of the whiny, self-absorbed, entitled community. Good Lord.
First it was whining cause they couldn’t get tickets to a football game because their neighbors were hoarding them. Now they’re complaining because they can’t run six abreast in the middle of the street without being askied by police officers to get on the sidewalk, where they’re supposed to be. Seriously people, take up a cause worth fighting. It’s like dooce said about all the Mormons in Salt Lake City, “I just want all of you to know that I would never hit a Mormon with my car. Never. Not without honking first.”
I kinda feel the same way about these people.
This is a universal problem that some communities have to grapple with. Take a stroll through some of the more colorful dialog between the townies and newbies in Montague, MA, back in March of 2001. Look for the comments by Dick, Mike, Mr. X and Mr. Z, among others.

BTW, I’m “Mike from Montague.” Can’t remember asking to be removed from your “list” though I guess it’s possible. I find it interesting, though, that such a request would have made it onto a blog… and that I would find it by Googling my name! Bizarre.
