Apparently, he was stepping into the baptismal pool when he reached out and grabbed the microphone, shocking himself. The person getting baptised was not in the pool and was not injured. We first heard about this in an e-mail from Taylor. This is so awful. At first it sounds like a joke, but it’s not. And if one more person calls it “shocking,” I swear…
He has a wife and three small children who are about to learn about what death is. His youngest are three-year old boys, who will grow up with only faint memories about their father. This makes me incredibly sad for their family.
He wrote a couple/few? books. I did not know that. I want to buy his books now, to help support his legacy, his church and his family. He was a good man and a good pastor, and he will be missed this side of Heaven. Joshua and I once visited UBC Waco, and it is a good church.
Prayers go out to his family and church community, and to those in the larger-than-usual crowd (it was Homecoming Weekend) during the service who witnessed this. If you are a praying person, this is a good time…
