library

judah is sitting on the floor with several books, babbling away. she’s reading to herself. i’m really glad she likes books. i hope she learns to love to read. my brother( who needs a blog) and sister and i all were avid readers. the first time i ever got grounded — i got grounded from reading. apparently, it was interfering with my schoolwork.

in other reading news, we got our library cards last week. i’ve lived in dallas for two years, and i’ve never set foot in one of our public libraries. i have fond memories of summer afternoons spent at the public library picking out the maximum allowable number of books to check out. i remember as a six-year-old, finding a spider in our backyard, jarring it, and taking it with me to the library to identify it from a book. six-year-olds nowadays would probably look it up on the internet.

but i digress. i’m looking forward to taking judah to the library — i found out that two branches near our new place have story time once a week, one on wednesday and the other on friday. that should be fun.

besides, i have books i want to read on which i refuse to spend money, thus supporting the authors. curious now, aren’t you?
