It’s been kind of a crappy week. it’s amazing how many things can go wrong in one week. Makes a girl feel a bit under attack. here’s what’s been going on.

for one, I’m still on antibiotics for my throat — the first one i had wasn’t working so I was prescribed a stronger one, but it’s tearing up my stomach and g.i. tract, as well as Judah’s. I feel so bad for her — she’s been just miserable — really gassy and she can’t seem to get comfortable. She wants to be held all the time, so I’m constantly holding her and feeding her and burping her and trying to massage her abdomen and back to help move it all through her little system. It’s very physically and emotionally draining to not be able to comfort her. I can’t wait til I’m done with this medicine!

We also got our cloth diapers last week and started using them. Judah’s a leaking machine, we’ve had to change the bedsheets twice this week because she’s leaked out. It’s been kind of frustrating, so if anyone has any tips on leak-free cloth diapering, please, for the love of all things sacred, e-mail me. Judah’s also making these great poo explosions, which will hopefully get better after i can stop these meds, but we’re having to toilet dunk almost every single diaper. I haven’t seen the inside of a toilet bowl this much since the first trimester of my pregnancy.

The Honda broke down Tuesday while Judah and I were at Borders with Shannon. At least there are worst places to be stranded. We had air conditioning, toilets, coffee, and lots and lots of books. Dawn gave us a ride home and Joshua came and got the car towed to a garage. We found out Wednesday that it was just the battery, which is a good a simple solution. But of course, it wouldn’t start even with a brand new battery, and we had to jump it thursday. And now the radio won’t work either.

We had breakfast with Mark and Shannon Wednesday morning in Deep Ellum. Mark was giving us a ride home in his Tercel when a Cadillac ran a red light and broadsided us. It hit us on the driver’s side, where Mark and Judah were, knocking us out of the intersection and turning us completely around. Judah immediately started screaming, and I began sufficiently freaking out. We got her out of the car and called 911. The paramedics checked her out and said she seemed fine and that it was because she was strapped into her car seat so well and because the car seat was strapped in so well. Jason Mueller came and gave us a ride home, where Judah and I crawled back into bed and Joshua went to get the car a new battery. We’ve got pictures of the Tercel to put up on here and soon as we get them uploaded. Judah’s first car wreck.

Joshua and I have nice cases of whiplash and I found a couple of bruises, but otherwise we are all okay. All i can say is thank you Jesus that it was not worse. if we had been three feet further into that intersection things could have been really bad.

We also discovered during a storm that our loft’s window still leaks and that Hershey’s chocolate syrup, which is now green to promote the Incredile Hulk movie, turns your poo green. As if green chocolate milk isn’t scary enough, if it can turn your poo green, what in the world is it doing to the rest of your body? This is why I am so against things like blue butter, green ketchup and peanut butter in a squeeze tube I’m ready to end this week and start a new one. I’ve had enough leaky windows, radios that won’t work, dead car batteries, car wrecks, and explosive, leaking diapers. Monday, come quickly!!
