so today is Turkey Day! the one holiday this year where I will see my family all in one room — Christmas promises no such joys. and as soon as we get the car loaded we are out of here, trusting the brothers to find their own way. After reading the menu my aunt provided I realised there was nothing left for me to bring — so Joshua and I are bringing a traditional French cheese plate. At least as traditional French as you can get at Whole Foods on Greenville Ave. The year I went to visit him in France — where we discovered we had feelings for each other — his uncle hosted a multi-course “traditional American Thanksgiving dinner.” In true French style, he included a cheese course. A taped Aggie/Longhorn game would have been more traditionally Thanksgiving for us Texans, but what can you do? so in romantic newlywed style, we bring cheese, to remind ourselves of when we fell in love. Okay, I guess we’re ready. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and no matter who you’re celebrating with, be truly thankful for all that you have.
